| Greetings, This forum is an excellent source of information concerning scroll saws so I taking my question to the experts. I am looking to purchase a scroll saw for general woodworking and model airplane construction. A 16-inch throat with variable speed control should meet my needs, variable speed would be nice but is not a requirement. I have researched various saws and reviewed the information on this forum, the Delta 40-570 and SS350 is a popular saw here. Unfortunately, Delta no longer makes their scroll saws so I need to locate a used model. I am having difficulty tracking the progression of the Delta scroll saws. I believe that the 40-560 is an older 16” 2-speed model that preceded the 40-570 (16” variable speed), which became the SS350. The 40-540 is a 16” variable speed model, a level below the 40-570, and the 40-540 became the SS250. I have not been able to locate a 40-570 or a SS350 but have found several 40-540s. What is the difference between the 40-570 and the 40-540? Thanks, |

pinnedup, go to Rick's Scrollsaw Rick may be able to help you. I get confused with all the different Delta models and their numbers. I have a Model 40-680 better known as the P-20. To bad Delta quit making them.
