Default something for whiners like me

made this for when the 788 blade clamp knob start to grow teeth.

It's a piece of red oak. make it loose enough to be easily instaled and removed. Most of the time it can ride the top clamp to be handy.

Once in awhile it will rap a knuckle but only hurts for a minute

We seem to think along the same vein oily.....my knob has not grown teeth, but my hands have grown arthritis. Ouch either way. I made one with a bit more beef, and it works just fine.

Great idea! I try not to over tighten the knobs on my 788, but sometime gremlins come in when I'm not looking and do if for me. So far, I've had to resort to pliers to loosen them, especially the bottom knob.

I'll be making one of these this weekend.

my 1st one broke but this is fine
I know what you mean. Too many years of football, fighting and wrenching has been rough on the meat hooks. I can still hold a beer with one hand though.

Got the same gremlins. Tell 'em to stay at your place!

ok but i might make it out of cherry instead of oak

I know what you mean, big fingers can be a pain in the nose
But always remember and this is very important.
You can pick your nose and you can your friends but you can't pick your friends nose.
I don't have many friends ........... I wonder
