I started building a router table yesterday after gettting the idea from a advanced routing book. So far I,ve got the under side routed for the router to sit in and the hole for the bit to go through. I plan on finishing it today. I'm making it out of 2x4s and a piece from a partical board desk (maple) that was broken. The 2x4s were messed up in some places so they were in the bargan bin so i've only spent $1.50 so far. I'll probably buy some bolts and wing nuts for the fence so it will cost around $3-$5 total.

I finished everything but the crossbeams for the legs and (if decide to) the trim around the edge of the table.

Great. A router table need not be expensive. Just take extra care in getting the router mounted nice and square to the tabletop and your in luck! Kevin, what brand is that miter guage you have shown on your router table? It looks like a real nice one, and I am in need of a decent one.

My table may be cheap but it's not the nicest thing to look at. (old 2x4s with some natural edges, rough look, ect.) and the fence is repositioned by using clamps. It does its job though. Eventually I'll build a larger more high tech router table that can handle much more hard work.

I forget the brand but I bought it at Woodcraft a while back for ~$50. I went to their site so I could give you a direct link and it doesn't appear that they carry it anymore. What's funny though is that if you look at this page with the accessories, it's the one pictured, hehehehe. Table Saw Accessories, Table Saw Stops & Table Saw Fences at Woodcraft.com

That miter gauge looks very similar to the one from my Shopsmith. They might be a source for one.
