Went through the old listing and found little on blade breakage. Probably didn't look right. Using FD new spiral 2/0 on stacked 1/4" + `1/8" plywood and I keep breaking blades about 2 inches down from the top blade mount of Yellar 788. Tension at 3-4, was using 4 went to 3, but i'm still breaking blades. Been 6 months since I played, feed rate is OK because very detailed pattern I have to go slow. Suggestions? Also how to I get into my info so I can change address etc? Scott in Round Rock

Last first...<user cp> up top and edit away..Be sure you save changes.... Blade breakage I think you are using too small a blade to begin with however I'm just guessing because you didn't share how many thicknesses you were stacking. Second I would have gone higher on the tension not lower. You may be trying to force your work. Lastly I'm surprised you are using spirals...But that is a personal thing and kind o f a inside joke around her...

Sg. Wood n things got it right. Blades that break near the blade clamps, either top or bottom is a tension issue. Blades that break in the middle just wear out, usually from heat. Make blades tight, if it is too tight it will pull out of the holders otherwise it will be ok. Of course thickness and hardness of material is a major factor too. Richie Z |
