Default I call it Frankenstein

Yes, Frankenstein seems suitable to me! This is my newest biggest most expensive and heaviest tool to date. I got him into the shop and onto the floor. Unfortunately I do not have the stand..er lets say his legs, they are missing. We think the driver forgot them in his truck or at his depot. Anyhow, I at least managed to move this beast into the barn. When fully assembled and accessorized, Mr Stein will be 1200 + Lbs! If I remember right, he is 5 HP. He runs off a set of gears which are interchangeable, not a belt, so he does not stall when he's at work, rather something will break or there will be a black out in the neighborhood Both X and Y axis are motorized and he has automatic liquid cooling. You see I have to use my John Deere just to move his limp body. Man..I hope I never move!!!

Jeff

That is a very nice addition to the shop. Hopefully they will find the legs for you so you can get it setup and working. What brand is it?

This is a Bolton, but it's the same as an Enco or several other names, being they are all manufactured in China. The working room is 12x36 and the floorspace used is 60x24. Tom...I hadn't thought of that, you funny guy! It does come with an actual stand, two large metal cabinets with doors on either side for more tool storage. I just don't know where the stand is at this time. I am not too worried about it. I can't use the tool. I paid cash for it, as I always do. I don't have any extra cash left to buy any tooling. But I can still learn how it works while I scrimp and save for cutters, collets and some metal rods. Maybe there will be a cutter in the box somewhere. I do have lots of wax I can practice with. That might sound odd to some, but wax is another whole new world that I should probably write about down the road too. It's unbelievable what you can make using a scrollsaw and some wax!

Well Jeff it appears that your lathe was suppose to be sent to my house!

Good luck with it. I love lathe work and know it inside out. If you ever need any help just PM me. A lathe is quite a handy tool. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Didn't know it was a lathe till Rick mentioned it, it sure doesn't look like my mini Jet. That is some beast you've gone and bought yourself Jeff. Do the pen's make themselves automatically with it?
Wax on the scroll saw, now you've peaked my interest.
Good luck with your new toy, can't wait to see what you will make with it.
