I know I've seen it somewhere but now that I dropped a couple of trees I can't for the life of me find it. Basically, it's a carrier for a log to resaw a log into lumber on a bandsaw. Does anyone happen to know of what I speak? TIA

I looked at one last year when I got my bigger bandsaw. As usuall I don't remember the name of it, but it was a steel unit that had arms with teeth that let you cut a long log into slices. I wil try and find it again. It was a bit of money but looked like it would be easy to make if you can weld.

I harvest some woods myself and do the resawing on my 18 bandsaw. The second picture at Sawmill Creek is what I use. Of course I cut my logs in 18" to 24" lenghts because of manuvering space around my bandsaw. It's just a board with a runner to go in the slot. I added marks every inch on the board so I can cut then move to next mark then cut again. Works for me but as always keep your hands away from the blade. I should have mentioned that I always slice my logs in half lenght wise first. I do this right on the table top with no jigs, just eyeballing it. This gives me a flat surface to place on the sled. If you are wanting to slice your logs from one side to the other to get the widest boards then just disregard everything I just said. Mike |

I can not find the one I was yapping about but the above one from Tony looks like it would do the trick real well.
