OK, so this isn't directly a scroll sawing question, but it relates. I have a DeWalt 734 thickness planer. Have been using it in my boyfriend's garage, but that's very inconvenient, setting up, putting away and it's four miles away. Want to set it up at home in my little work room. Can't figure out how to attach the chip collector hood. If I can make that work, I can set it up at my house, and do lots more projects with lots less fuss. |

Hi, I have the same planer. The hood uses three screws to hold it on, one on each side, and one in the middle on the bottom. Heres some pics. I don't usually put the one in the bottom, just the two sides. Let me know if you have any other questions. King |

Thanks so much. Got it up and working - once I wasn't trying to put it on upside down!! The pictures really helped. Works like a charm, too. Hardly a stray chip. Have an R2D2 sized shop vac, so this should work out nicely!!! Now off to rearrange things in my sewing room, I mean my sawing room. When I met my Scroll Saw, my sewing machine got relocated to another room, and doesn't get much attention, poor thing. Actually, my scroll saw is in my kitchen so I can listen to TV and spread things out. I tell people I have a 14x70 work shop, it just happens to have a kitchen, bath and place to sleep (I live in a mobile home). This is so much fun!!! Thanks again. |

Glad I could help. The collector works great on mine, before I had it I would cover my floor after planing just a couple of boards.
