I am new to this site and new to scroll saws, I do alot of wood working as a hobby and now my wife and I have purchased a old home built in the 1890's, we are restoring it and she wants alot of gingerbread work, so I decided to try cutting it with a scroll saw. I mentioned this to a friend and he gave me a henegar multimax 3 that was made in 1989, it has a 25" throat and is on a nice stand. It seems to be a good heavy saw, but he says he was told it was missing a few parts, I have looked on the net for a picture and only seen one picture and it looks as though there is a part on top of the blade missing and there looks like a rod on the side of the blade arm missing. My question is, are there any parts diagrams available and or a good place to get parts for this saw? The friend that gave the saw to me has never used it and had no real use for it. I put a blade on it and it seemed to work ok without these parts but better safe than sorry. Any help in the right direction, would be greatly appreciated....P.S. Is this a good saw? The new ones seem to be pricey. P.S.S. I think this is a hegner instead of henegar, sorry my bad... Last edited by Double B; 08-11-2009 at 01:42 AM. |

Thanks Steve, I checked out the site and found the multimax 25 looks like my machine I think the parts missing from mine were for pinless blades and they probably removed them so they could use pinned blades and make a quick change, so I guess I can use pinned blades till I get the parts in. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.. |
