I bought a table on the government auction site here last year. It has a 110 volt motor that drives a worm gear assembly. I have a bad neck and hate to look down to do things. So all my tools are mounted fairly high. Anyway I bought this table to use for sanding and other light work. I put it on wheels and as it will go from 30" up to 58" it gets used as an out feed table on all my band saws, table saw, router table and the larger drill press. With the flick of a switch it is a much better way to go than all the out feed tables that I made to fit each machine that is a different hight. The idea was to make all the tool tables the same hight but now I don't need to. As I bought this used I do not know how much weight it will lift but I had the top which is 30X48" covered in about 10" of cedar boards and the motor did not even grunt. For $60. it is a great table to have and I use it the most in my shop. There have been a few go threw the auction here so it might be worth your while to try and find one.Except at the BC Govt action because the next one that comes up I am getting even if it goes up to $300.

Nice buy Alan! 30" to 58" is quite a spread. It sounds like this table was made especially for you. I hope you enjoy it.

Couldn't have found a better home for that table if we had tried...Glad you found the answer to some of your problems...Now you can make tons of sawdust in relative comfort!

Great idea, but for that size I would have to build a new shop. Nice to see you posting again Alan.
