Default DW 788 problem

I am having a vibration problem along with the motor starting to surge. It started last night while I was cutting out a puzzle.

It just sounds like the motor speeds up and the whole saw will vibrate.

There in no knocking on the saw....I already had that problem and fixed it a couple months ago.

Any Ideas?????

Dang, Sorry I haven't encountered that one yet. Have you tried contacting Rick? He knows everything...I hope you get it fixed soon.

I haven't heard of that problem much on the Dewalt. But on other equiptment I would guess the speed control circuit board is going bad.

I have not had that problem but I think it was mentioned here before and the person took the switch and speed control out and blew the dust out with an air hose.

Well I ended up blowing everything out really good. Still did the same thing.

Then I took out the 2 brushes and blew that out. Now it works fine for now.

Glad you got it fixed...I'll try and remember that fix if it comes up on my ol' yeller down the road.

There are two subjects that I know very well, computers and machining. I have tons of experience with both. Most of the problems that are in these two fields I have encountered on a personal basis. The other things I let up to the masses to solve. As you can probably tell I love solving problems. I love a challenge. Now if I could only get a grip on the big bang theory or is it the string theory now? This business of all the matter in the universe being contained in one very dense single point is difficult to swallow. Now in regard to ol' yeller I don't have a clue.

Rick (ktown) I was referring to Rick H. I should have said so...He is the resident guru for Ol' yellar and everything that goes amiss with he and his lowly cousins (every other scroll saw manufactured)...

I would have known to steer any other problems known to man your direction though...Bowing Humbly in your presence--- all knowing.....<grin>

Ours did the same thing for about 3 days. Mike couldn't trace it to anything. It quit as mysteriously as it started. Its my backup saw so mike said he'll find it when she goes.
