Default Need manual for Craftsman 10" bandsaw - cat.# 9443

Hi -
I've just been given a Craftsman 10" Deluxe Band Saw (3 wheel model) with a catalog number 9443.

Its a pretty small budget model but is in good condition and at first glance seems to cut fine and should be great for cutting small pieces for scrolling

What i now need is a users manual and parts lists if anyone can help please either with a scanned original or a link to an internet download

Thanks in advance

Scrub this request - I found one

Hi Merle - here ya go, the pdf quality is a bit weak but at least its readable and a free download.

After reading it through I managed to get the blade guides set up correctly and now the saw is purring along nicely I also like it since its not too tall and suits my small shop very well

good luck with your latest acquisition jim, although i must say i wouldnt be a fan of 3 wheel bandsaws.a friend of mine had one years ago and constantly complained of blade breaks.now, whether it was operator eror,or machine i,m not sure but it put me off .so when i searched for a bandsaw,i went for the 2 wheeler.anyway good luck with it,and safe cutting..

Hi Tony - thanks for the comments. Last year I bought a cheapy Ryobi 10" 2 wheel model in a sale at our local Home Depot outlet. Its been a doorstop ever since as I've never been able to get it to run true. At least the Craftsman worked first time after adjusting the guides. Only thing I can see with it is with thicker stock you have to feed really slow. Maybe forcing it would account for the blade breaks you mention.

Last night I cut some 1" pine board and at least for that job it worked really well so i reckon until I can afford a more professional model this will more than serve my needs for now.

And after all, it was free mate - LOL!

Thanks Jim. That is similar to mine but not quite the same. Is yours a 62" blade length? Mine also has variable speed. The table is not square from front to back. I had to shim the mounting screws underneath. I did use it for the road grader and my band saw boxes.

Hi Merle - sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Well the mystery thickens. For some reason my saw had little in the way of identifying plates - the originals have been removed. When it was given to me I was told it was a Craftsman but after some investigation it now turns out that its a rebranded Black and Decker 9443 The blade is 56 1/8" length and its a single speed model. It seems the blades are manufactured by Dewalt and are also used on some of the entry level Delta saws and are available locally. The table tilt clamp is poor but as I only aim to cut at 90 degree to the table I've locked it down in that position and it will do. This saw is definitely an entry level model and its certainly doesn't have much power but as long as I cut slowly and the stock is not too thick or too hard it seems ok for what I want it to do until i upgrade to something more professional

Thanks for your comments
