Default Guinevere Sanding System

Hello Everyone
I've been looking over this sanding system for a while now and I think I'm going to add it to my tool list. I'm planning on ordering the DVD on it soon so I can learn more about it. I found it at Klingspor's Woodworking Shop, Woodworking Supplies, Tools, Discs, Sanding Sleeves, Sandpaper, Belts, Klingspor's, Klingspor's, Proxxon for $299.95 which is a lot cheeper then most others. I was wondering if any of you have the Guinevere Sanding System and if is what you think of it. Right how it's my dream tool.

I have it and like it a lot. The price you found is great. Wish I'd found that one.

That looks interesting. Please post a review after you've used it for a while. I'm always looking for another cool toy, er, tool.

It looks great, the only concern I would have is that I think it spins too fast.

I bought the system last year but don't use it much. I think Rolf is right that it spins too fast. I have had lots of problems with the paper on the round inflatable sander coming apart. The sleeves are too expensive to fall apart after only a few minutes of use. I do use the motor both with the flexable shaft and without it, but the instructions say you can only use it for 15 minutes without heat problems. Part of my problem is that I'm not a big fan of sanding anyway (I'd like to try intarsia but don't have a super dust collection system). I'll take my scroll saw and a SR blade anytime.

For me I found a 1725 rpm motor with a half inch shaft, buy a $20 chuck, a $30 flex shaft and I am good to go.

Thanks for the replys. I'm going to read up on it some more to see if the speed at which it runs would be a problem for me.. As for the 15 min time limit I dont think that would be a problem, 15 min is a fair amout of time, it about how long it takes me to drive to work. I'm going to watch some of the videos I found on line. Your replys were helpful I'll let you know what choise I make. If anyone else has more input let me know.

Hay Evie
When you at at the site but KX11340 on the search block and hit go. You should see the Guinevere Sanding System. I saw a video about it by Steve Good. I did a on-line search using Guinevere Sanding System Videos and it was among the other videos. You can also find it on his site under the video link. I hope this helps, Let me know what you think.

Thanks Dan, got it now. that is a lot of money to do lots of things, for sure. but for me, I think it is a lot of money , to do the same things, you probley already have at home. the one thing I don't like is the flex shaft. if you have a flex shaft tool already. then you don't kneed this. any thing you can put on your flex shaft tool you can put on this motor. and also. any sanding drums can also go on your drill press, or other motor arber. for me, I would love a motor to handale a drum sander. of any size. but will this work for all of them.if they are too big, can this motor handle them, will they wablae under stress. I also would love to put anything on it. drum sanders, all sizes, buffing whells, mops, you can do this with lots of motors, with arbers, with the rpms you wish. the one thing is. can you lower the rpms for drill bits, burrs, sanding drums on your shaft. sidways. how easy is it to change out ?you can buy a cheap motor, or make one. the ones they show is what you are paying for. not the motor. $299.00 can buy alot of bits and burrs.kurtsaw burrs. etc. that work on any flex shaft tool with rpms, of 30,000, or more. I would do more resurce first. see what you wont to use. and see if you already have that tool. this tool looks neet, but just make sure of what you wish to do. you could buy a Fordum for that price. and get what you wish for the sanding drums. and burrs. just my point of view. not trying to discouradge you. just do more resurce, on whaty you wont. your friend Evie
