I have one Jenny, but, can't give up the part either. I use it now & then along with my 788. I guess mine isn't worth much either, if I can't get parts for it. Are you saying they don't make the parts for that one? Live & learn, I guess. Hope you can find it somewhere. Maybe you could have one made for it. Possibility !

Jenny, Delta is owned by Dewalt and the Dewalt repair shops are often able to get parts for older Delta machines. Try the yellow pages to find a Dewalt repair shop in your area and talk to them. They were able to get me a blower nozzle for my 650 by finding one in a Dewalt parts place in the midwest.

Bret,

Good luck. I too am searching for this part as it broke off my Q3 during a move. I've had no luck in locating this part anywhere.

I'm a little disappointed that my 13 year old Delta Q3 (top of the line at the time) is now unusable due to a critical part not being available. Delta (in my mind anyway) was always know for excellent service and parts for their older tools and equipment. It's not as though this is a 1971 saw for Pete's sake, and it's already useless due to Black and Decker's decision to not make any more of this cheap, die cast part.

Anyway, today at lunch I'm running up to the local machine shop to see what they would charge to fabricate a replacement upper blade holder that would work with the available 40-251 Quickset II blade chuck. If it's not exorbitant, I'm going to get one made and get my Q3 back on line!

If it will help, the upper chuck assembly is the same for the 350. I also have a Q3 and they are interchangeable.
