I was using the Dremel 1830 and like it allot untill my wife suprised me with the Dewalt 788, man what a differance in the saws. It is like going from a no power stearing to power stearing on a car.

Saltydog, you have a real nice saw there. I love my 788. Don't have any reason to want anything better, if there is one. I installed a foot switch on mine, so I could leave the on-off switch in the ON position all the time. I covered the switch with clear plastic for dust protection, because it will get full of dust & quit working. Now, all you have to do is enjoy it. Good Scrolling. Perk

Lucky man! I started with an inexpensive saw about 3 years ago as I didn't want to spend too much until I found out if I enjoyed it. Well, last year the first saw wore out (I liked sawing!) so researched all the info I could find and decided on the 788. Love at first cut. Had to get the EZ lift though & sounds like I need to get the foot switch. I hope you have as many enjoyable hours as me with it. Bernie |

Yeah, another 788 user. I'll second, third, or whatever it is to get the arm lift. It's worth 3 times the cost or more. I still have to get a foot switch for mine. Planning to check Harbor Freight the next time I'm in their neck of the woods. From what I understand, a number of folks here are using those. Again, congrats on your saw.

Congrats on the 788. I love mine. You will have to consider the EZ lift and the foot switch, I have both and the light. This saw will last for a long time and will cut true! Good cutting and let's see some good stuff! -Bill
