G'day Aaron, I have 4 saws, In order of purchase, Ryobi, Delta, Dewalt, Ex21. I have this problem with chucking stuff, so still have them all. The Ryobi still looks like new, but has done quite abit of work, Hasn't been used for more years than I care to remember The Delta was a little beaut, and has had a real thrashing. Can't bring myself to ditch it, as one day I may repair it. The Dewalt, was beautiful, but a part has stripped. One day I'll take the time to get a helicoil fitted. The Ex 21 is probably the solidest of them all although for cutting and smoothness would be on a par with the Dewalt. Oh, my 1st saw, I no longer have, It was a sewing machine I converted.

Aaron, try using a link belt on your sander. As I've had to replace belts on my equipment I've converted them to link belt. Initially its usually more expensive than a regular v-belt, but in the long run it's a better choice. This is just a representative link to tell you more about it. Klingspor's Woodworking Shop, Woodworking Supplies, Tools, Discs, Sanding Sleeves, Sandpaper, Belts, Klingspor's, Klingspor's, Proxxon This link is long, so if it doesn't show up to to woodworkingshop.com and search for link belt. Note: You'll need to buy it by width and I can't say that it'll fit all belt driven pieces of equipment. However, since it's a make it yourself, in a sense, it's far easier to have this on hand than trying to find odd sized belts. Oh, another option, if you don't want to switch to link belt. Take the old belt with you to an auto supply store. Often, they can match to a belt in stock. Not always, as some belts are machine specific, but it may be worth a try. Hope this helps, a bit.

My saw is an older RBI 220vs and I hope the new guys continue to make quality saws under the Hawk/RBI brand.
