Thanks everyone for some great info.
I'd say the Drill Doctor is the winner .
I'll do some Googling and see if I can find some in Oz.
I think it'd make the Old Man's day to be able to sharpen bits again.

Rick, thanks for giving it go. that's great info.

BTW, If I came across a bit "up myself" with the statement "I don't need one ..........." I never meant to. I got taught how to sharpen bits and how to convert normal twist bits into Wood bits (Brad Point) when I did my apprenticeship, and it's just second nature to hit one on the grinder when needed. (You couldn't buy a wood bit then)

I thought I did a pretty good job of sharpening a bit on the grinder until I got a Drill Doctor. This tool is awsome. It sharpens all twist bits/cement bits also makes split point tips.

I tried the drill doctor and found that I could do a better job with a diamond grinder stone. Probably because I have been doing it that way for 30 years.
