Default Part for Delta Scroll Saw 40/650

I am searching for a scroll saw part for the Delta Scroll Saw 40/650. The part has the reference number 1342500, but I can’t seem to find it on any websites.

It's a retro fit kit.

Can you tell me if the 1342500 is still available and where I can find it. If this is not available can you tell me if there is a compatible part.

I'm searching on behalf of my neighbour who has been looking for one for the last 6 months. We're based just outside of Cardiff, Wales in the UK but he's thinking of building a boat to come over to the US if he doesn't find one soon!

Any help much appreciated -
Rolant Tomos (on behalf of Bernard Vickery)

The three places I checked, no luck.

The Main Delta, DeWalt, Porter-Gable, and Black & Decker support web site listed your saw, 40-650:
Delta Q3, 40-650 parts list
However, this Web site does not list your retro-fit part number
a search for your part, 1342500, also not listed as available.

Other members here may offer some help help. But that just might be an old Delta saw which, under the new management of Black and Decker, has been cut-off from support.

BTW: welcome to both of you to our small little corner of the Internet. We do have several from your side of the Pond. I hope they will chime in and welcome you also.

Wish I had better news for you.

Default Thanks for the help

Thanks for all your suggestions. Still no luck in finding the part.

We're thinking that as they don't make it any more would a part from another model work in it's place.

Bernard really likes the machine and it's a shame that it can't be used because of one really small component.

We'll keep on looking, if we find it we'll let you know.
If anyone has any further leads, we'd love to hear from you.

Roland, the only other suggestion that I have is to try to find another one to use for parts. Post on various "wanted" lists and watch ebay and other for bid/sale sites. Post "wanted" notices on any local woodworking store bulletin boards. Ask at local cabinet shops and try to locate a local woodworking club. Perhaps one of their members has your model sitting in the back corner of their shop.

I know how frustrating and agravating it is when manufacturer's discontinue parts and support. (sigh) I love old tools, so I've run into that problem more than once.

Good luck in finding the part for Bernard. Do keep us updated on your search. Since we have new members coming into the forums, perhaps, one day one of them will have the answer for you.
