Its really a matter of opinion. alot of people like dewalt and a lot like craftsman or another brand. Personally I started out with a ryobi 12" I got from the home depot for $99 and then upgraded to a craftsman contractor series 20" scroll saw that my grandpa gave me. (NOTE) I would not recommend the Ryobi if you plan on doing precise and delicate work. (SECOND NOTE) here is a link to a sit that is selling a craftsman for $125 in Greenville (not sure what state) CRAFTSMAN 20" CONTRACTOR SERIES SCROLL SAW

I love Ireland, I think its one of the prettiest place on earth and I have a little Irish blood in me to. My family on my Grandma's side came to America some time in the 1800s. Sorry about getting off topic

![]() Jerry, I love that saying and use it a bit. My best mate introduced it to me, sadly he is no longer here, but his many sayings will live on, as long as I do

I'm often sorely tempted to use that expression with my better half. :-) When we run into a problem, I'm busy trying to solve it with what we have or can easily obtain. Yet, I keep hearing "wish we had or if we had xyz....." So far I've held my tongue, sometimes through clinched teeth, but it sure does get tempting sometimes. LOL

I've never used either, but in your situation I'd be considering either the SIP 16" saw or the Fox 16" saw. Although I've heard favourable reports of the SIP, the Fox is something of an unknown quantity. However, it comes from the same stable as Delta saws (which are no longer available in the UK) so it should be a decent machine. Gill

The Fox is almost identical to my old delta with the exception of the blade clamps and a few cosmetic changes. It was a great little saw
