I had seen it in one of the magazines available that fishing line attached to the blade holder will prevent the loss of a holder on blade breakage...anyone try this to see if it works?

Years ago, when I had a craftsman that needed separate blade clamps to hold plain end blades, I used (I think) yarn because that's what I had. It helped a lot. With out it, the saw would throw the clamp across the room when a blade broke. The key is to get the length of string/fishing line long enough that you can easily clamp the blade, but short enough that it didn't get caught in the blade or interfere with cutting. |

Hi Carliez. gosh I never heard of that. but it sounds like a good idea. I would like to welcome you to the forum. I am curious what kind of saw do you have, when my blade breaks, the clamp doesn't come off. maybe on a craftsmen, that uses pin blades. not sure. I know my old craftsmen only had one speed, so at 1700 rpms, braking a blade was pretty scary. hope you get all the enpho you kneed. I am Evie, southern Calif.
