G'day Cathy.
By your response to some of the replies I gather you use self adhesive discs???
You can buy a self adhesive velcro/hook piece that you stick onto the disc, then you can get the sandpaper discs with the opposite backing like the ones used on your ROS.

This means you can change discs back and forward as much as you like, and when you order it, grab a couple of belt cleaning sticks as Mike suggested.

Don't wait for the paper to gum up before using the cleaning sticks, just give the disk a quick hit with one every time you finish using it and you'll double the life of your paper.

Yea Cathy those cleaning sticks are the greatest, I even use it on my Dremel sanding bits, and just plane old sanding sheets. Hubby sure is handy to have around, that sure is a nice sander he got for you.

Has anyone ever used an old sneaker as a cleaning device?

Does anyone know where to find the self adhesive velcro/hook piece John is talking about?? I haven't seen any during my online shopping. Also one more question.... where do you all buy your adhesive disc sandpaper?? They have some at Amazon, but not sure of the quality. Thanks everyone for the great advice!!!

The old fashioned soles of sneakers work great. So do tightly scrunched up plastic carrier bags .

Cathy, Lowes and Home Depot stock the self adhesive disks in the most common sizes. If not available there, most of the woodworking suppliers will stock it. Some are: Woodworking Supply, Klingspor Woodworking Shop, Lee Valley, Grizzly, and Rockler.

Hope this helps.

Cathy, Im not positive if this is the stuff John is referring to, but stores like joanns, hobby lobbys, walmarts sell velcro in rolls with an adhesive back on them. They generally have it in the crafts dept. Or, go into ebay and type in velcro roll into the search, it'll show you some. Hopefully thats what John was referring to.

Try Klingspor's Woodworking Shop, Woodworking Supplies, Tools, Discs, Sanding Sleeves, Sandpaper, Belts, Klingspor's, Klingspor's, Proxxon
They may have the hook and loop material.
