Cool Did You Ever...

..have that "special" blade that was so good that you really hated to see it go?

Chucked up a Flying Dutchman #5 Ultra Reverse this evening that must have had some magic in it. It did everything I asked with no chattering, wandering, ends stayed straight despite numerous hole changes and the only thing it asked for was more 3/4" oak to turn to sawdust. Never complained about the tension and cut true from the first stroke to the last

Not to get overdramatic, but that little blade gave it's all in the pursuit of the pattern. Finally got to the point (about 45 minutes of good hard sawing) that I felt the pressure starting to build in my hands and wrists, so I retired the guy and found his semi ill-tempered cousin lurking in the tube--from the same order. Then it got dark and started to thunder, so I haven't had much chance to tame the new blade.

G'day Jim,
It's funny how that happens eh.
Sometimes, very occasionally, a blade just seems to do what it's asked to with no complaints.
You feel like taking the little bloke out and sharpening him to give him a new lease on life.

I find that blades from the same package, some seem to last for a long time and others get dull way too fast.

I had a similar blade cooperate like that yesterday cutting 1" walnut. It cut forever and never wondered around like a lost child and ever cut was perfect. Then the next blade must of had a gremlin and it went off on its own way and forgot I was trying to help it take a straight and true path.I just cut off saw and went inside.Tony

You are on the mark with this post. I have so many of the FD blades I use last and last and made the tightest turnes wiht out fail. I've found I have had best cutting with his polar blades at times.

Hi all,
I just got 2 samples of the ultra reverse FD #5 from Mike and I absolutely love it. Like ya'l said - it was like the energizer bunny! I've already sent an order off to Mike. I don't think anyone can go wrong with it.
Just my pennies worth!
