My DeWalt is not square front to back. Supposedly there is a way you can adjust the table up or down to fix this. Someone kindly sent me some instruction which supposedly can fix this but after studying it and my saw- I'm at a loss. It seems to be getting worse as it gets older. Can anyone walk me through the steps necessary? I watched Rick's video on taking it apart and putting it back together but can't seem to figure out where the adjustments would be needed. I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to opening it up. I'm afraid it wouldn't go back together right and I'd be in big trouble if I had to do without it for any period of time. Help !! |

Janette, I'm at a loss as to what your question means. How did you determine your saw is not square front to back. Square to what? I am a Dewalt owner and I must admit, I've read lots of problems on here about the Dewalt, but I have not had any of them. The saw table is held on at two points, Here at the back of the table, Saw Table 001.jpg and here underneathe the table Saw Table 002.jpg I'm at a loss as to what you are trying to square the table to. The table could have come loose from the pivot point at the back, but this would make the table unlevel and I don't see how that could happen unless the bolts at the front were removed. Perhaps you mean the table is not level front to back, which would not effect the cutting anyway. My table is not level front to back but that's because the back legs are higher then the front. I really hope you or someone can explain to me what you mean by not square front to back. (not to be confused with not square right to left) Marsha

I think I know what you mean Janette - the bottom of the blade seems to be set back farther than the top of the blade, even though it is put in straight? (or is it the other way around?) I've noticed it on my dewalt, but I don't know how to fix it. Theresa |

Janette . Is there a small o ring in the back of the table where it is inserted . I don't have my manual in front of me so I'm guessing . I'll see if I can find it , but I'm sure some of the big gun's will respond . Roger |

I checked on the dewalt site and they show an o ring on the shaft that the rear of the table slides onto . Hope this may help or I did not understand the question , or it may be something else . Roger |

Janette There is supposed to be a sleeve on the front bolt that goes through the bevel trunnion. If that sleeve is missing the table might tilt down in the front. In Marshas's picture underneath the table, it would be on the bolt right behind the tightening knob. Not sure if this is the answer but it might be worth looking at. Just got the print off the web.....part #91 here: http://www.ereplacementparts.com/ima...YPE_1_WW_2.gif Last edited by Plaquerd; 05-02-2009 at 03:56 AM. |

There should also be the o ring part # 104 , but it doesn't show on this diagram . Roger |

Marsha, what I'm talking about is this. If you put a square on the table beside the blade - I can square it on the left and right side of the blade. If you put the square in front of or behind the blade (with the back of the square facing the blade) it is quite off center. This DOES result in unsquare cuts. As far as I can tell, a lot DeWalts have this problem. I'll check about that o ring. I think I need to either lower the back or raise the front (or is it the other way around )

I had to turn the hex screw on the left side of the blade clamp on the bottom clamp in ward to make it level the blade now is strait up and down I think that might be the problem .in other words the blade is good front to back and side to side.
