Default Frank Pozsgai's E-Z set blade holder system

Good Morning everyone, Has anyone used Frank Pozsgai's E-Z set blade holder system?? I own an RBI Hawk 220 and once again broke the set screw the holds the top blade in place. With RBI Industries closing their doors I have had to rethink this method. That's why I am interested in this system.

Also will it work on my Hawk 220?? I'm a little confused with the description. I thought this would work for me but it says: "Note: If you own a Model 220 and want to change over to our system, simply purchase a new Upper Arm Tension Release unit and then adapt with our E-Z Set Blade holder System." Not quite sure what this means. Thank you so much for any info!!!

I think Cathy that it means your current arm does not have the front end that flexes. that is your arm is solid all the way. On the newer arms the front piece is connected to the arm with a pin and then that front piece which can move up and down holds the blade holder. This also has a lever to tighten the blade. I think on your machine you can only adjust the tension at the back of the machine.

I hope that made it a little clearer.

I have a 220VS RBI and put that blade holder on a couple of months ago and I really like it, especially when I am doing fret work and have to undo and redo the blade many times. The only draw back I have is that sometimes it doesn't always stay closed when using a blade above #5 in size. I may have something set wrong but since most of my cutting is for puzzles with small blades so there is no problem.

Bill, Did you have to get a new Upper Arm Tension Release unit? That's where I'm not understanding. The picture they use looks like my saw. I wonder if they are talking about one that is older than mine. I got mine about 5 years ago. Any chance of you taking some pictures and posting so I can see what yours looks like?? Thanks for the reply!!

Hi Cathy, Here are some pics showing Pozsgai's blade holder system on my saw. As you can see I have the tension release on the front of my arm and I am showing it in both the tensioned position and the released position. I also moved the blower from the right side of the arm to the left side. That was the way it was on the dremel saw that I started scrolling on and I liked it there. I hope this helps.

These questions are best left to Pozsgai I think. I would email him a picture of your saw so he can tell you for sure. Otherwise, he will come up with something no doubt! He said that holder will not work of the G4, but he is working on it along with some other G4 parts. I do want one of those. I'm tired of trying to crank on that little knob to tighten the blade.
Far as the set screw..if it's the little allen screw on the left that is a problem, that is very easily found. You just need to know the size, or take it to someone that can measure it and a new screw isn't worth a buck.

Jeff, he already has the gizmo for the top saw blade holder on the G4. Reason I know is that my daughter got me one for Christmas. Now if he is working on one for the bottom holder I would be the first in line.

Ok. I was showing him my G4, and he said it wouldn't work in it. He said it was a different design I guess. I am hoping he'll register on this site and come check in with us every so often. I did suggest that to him.

Maybe for the bottom holder he can take your suggestion for that. I sent him the actual parts that go into the saw arm to hold the blade holder in place. With that part, he could modify the end if need be. I don't know if you'd want the bottom holder to be secured like the top holder, or keep it as being quick removed like it is right now.

Jeff, I did email him and I didn't understand his reply. Maybe I didn't explain my problem well enough. My Hawk is just like Bill's. So I think it would work. I called it a set screw, which I think might have been incorrect. I'm going to go take pictures of it and will post.
