Hi everyone, Yesterday, the DeWalt 788 (5 months old) would not start. I checked the fuse and even checked the outlet (LOL). Nothing, so I called DeWalt service. Of course I had to bring it in and I thought I would have to leave it there. Seventy miles to Knoxville, there and home, back and home, that would be 280 miles. Well it was a nice day, so I went to Knoxville. They were extremely helpful. They checked it out and had it back to normal within a half an hour. It was great customer service. I was back on the road, well I did stop at Woodcraft. It turned out to be a very nice day. |

| Did they tell you what was wrong? I am sure glad that my father never threw anything away. My dewalt went out 2 years ago in the mountains. Sprayed the switch with TV tuner cleaner. Worked great.. Now I use a foot switch.

Yes, it was the switch. Had to be replaced. Blowing out didn't help. Looked at the band saws (just looked). I bought an old issue of SWWC which I did not have. |

Denny..Denny..Denny. let me get this straight...You actually were able to set foot inside a woodcraft and you came home with a back issue of a magazine? I'll give you the fact that it is a great magazine...but a magazine? The closest Woodcraft to me is 143 miles one way over 2 mountain passes...

Happened to me a couple years ago. I took red on/off switch off and underneath there's a plug in type for the wires which had gotten loose.

The footswitch is your best friend with a Dewalt. Bought one a couple years ago and love it. Took a little while to get used to, but I don't know how I did any scrolling without it.

Hi Janette, I hope the switch was defective and had to be replaced. Not just reconnected. LOL Hi Bill, The foot switch is looking better all the time. |
