I have completed the Easter Cross I had to use spray adhesive to apply the pattern and it was on there longer than I typically leave them. I am having a hard time getting the pattern off. I tried wetting it with acetone but didn't have much luck. What does everyone else do. Thanks |

I found that a hot air gun works pretty well and then just a touch up with mineral spirits to get the last litte bit of adhesive off. BTW

Have you tried a hair dryer? I find that sometimes this will work. If it still won't come off, try soaking it with mineral spirits. That usually will do it.

tnirish, If you have mineral spirits. Just dab some on the trouble areas and let it set for a few minutes it will lift right off. I just use a spray bottle and mist it on the trouble areas. Works like a charm.

I pop it in the micro-wave oven, 45 seconds on high and the pattern will peel right off. A bit of goo-gone and the glue residue wipes completely off. The only wood I've ever had a problem with is oak, the glue seems to seep right into the grain of oak and it is a PITA to get the pattern off, anyway you try. Just my 2¢ worth Marsha

I go with the hot air gun and mineral spirits. Works great for me. Never tried the microwave, will have to give it a shot.

Mineral spirits is the way to go, quick and easy. Just let it sit for about 30 seconds.

Hi I agree with the above, but just a tip - many of us use cheap masking or painters tape prior to sticking the pattern on. If you buy the cheap tape it comes off easily and leaves no residue. Sue |

I don't know if this is where this belongs but thought I'd add my 2 Cents. I bought a roll of contact paper and trace the pattern onto that- then peel off the back and stick it on the wood There's no problem when it's removed from the wood and it stays real tight when cutting and there's no mess with the spray adhesive. Does anyone else do this? Anne |

I use a rubber cement thinner which you can find at most crafts supply store like Michels or an ACMore ,also a art supply store. it works fast and clean. |
