Reading the other 4, 5 or 6 posts on this subject, nobody seems to know right now. If you can find out you might relay the information to everyone else asking too.

I have a partial answer. I contacted the person that Gill recommended in another post. I have an envelope with some broken parts and the new replacement parts in it that I am sending to him. He is going to make the new parts, but to better quality so that I don't have to keep replacing the parts that should have been right the first time around. Biggest problem I have is the lower fingers that hold the blade holder, so I have that packed and ready to go. I informed him that many others will be needing this part now, and informed him of how it keeps breaking and to make the fingers thicker and of better material so as not to break. I saw on his site that he sells blade holders that fit the G4 and they look a lot better than the stock holders. They have a pressure switch instead of a screw to lock the blade in place. I'll be upgrading to that too, because the knob on the stock holders is too small for me to tighten very well. Hopefully he can get her done. If not, I know other people that can, but I prefer this person does it because scroll saw parts is his specialty and I'd like to not have to shop from 20 people for each part. I am going to recommend as many of us inform him of our concerns with the parts that most commonly break and that we purchase things from him so that he keeps making whatever we and others need, custom parts or otherwise. I saw the post on buying parts in auction. defeats the purpose in my mind to buy replacement parts that just break again and again. I want to spend my money 1 time only, because it isn't being given to me for free.

The bank has for-closed on them. This means that they are out of business. They will have an auction sometime in April. One person is in negotiation with a bank trying to keep the parts department open. They will release some kind of press release on their web site and maybe in some scroll saw magazines. I understand that they do not; at this time respond to phone and mail messages. Mike

I was browsing auctions in Missouri and came across one that list a 'Machine Tool Auction Hawk Manufacturing Inc, April 16, in Garden City, Missouri.' This may be the one for Hawk scrollsaws. It lists many machine tools. Does not say too much for parts. Pictures to be added after March 23. I believe the previous address of Hawk Industries was Harrison, Missouri. Wayne in MN I was going to mention the sight as 'missouriauctionguide dot com' Last edited by waynemn; 03-11-2009 at 03:10 AM. |

Jeff, let me know how it goes with your man. I had the lower fingers break on me but it happened a few months ago and I was able to get a replacement. In fact they sent two. Guess they figured it would happen again.

I am fortunate that I manage a machine shop (one of my many hats)so I will probably be able to make anything that I need. Jeff, On that lower clip the reason it breaks is that the corners on the clamps have no radious so when they move (rotate) they really stress the plastic. At least that is what I found on my saw. I modified my clamps and it seems fine now. Let us know how you like the quick release clamp upgrade on the Hawk. I have been wanting to do that for awhile I really like those clamps on my Delta.

I contacted Bushton Mfg about some G4 parts and they sent them right out to me. I use my saw 4 to 5 or more hours a day and really enjoy it but it is begining to wear and tear on the saw. I don't want to give up my G4 and hope that Bushton can be successful with their scroll saw business.

I just received the new redesigned replacement lower clamp, for the 220, assembly from Pozsgai's Designs Contact Us and these new parts look to be a lot better than those original parts on the saw. You may want to give them a call and see if they have parts.
