Default Questions for hegner owners

HI
I have found a 18" vs hegner used in good condition. What am I gaining on that over my Dewalt. I understand the blades go in a holder in the bottom and you take the blade out of the top holder and put it thru the wood and then reclamp and tension it. That is what I do with my dewalt, only the arm lifts up. i mostly use 1.8 and 1/4 inch bb plywood so is that going to be a factor against this. I do understand it has a better arm system for better cutting for fine things, is this correct. Would appreciate some replies to this.
Thanks
Bill

I have the same Hegner saw, never used a DeWalt so don't know how to compare it. There are many DeWalt users that love them I know. The Hegner is a very good saw, I have cut some very fine things and have had no trouble. If I were to buy a new saw I would buy a Hegner again. I got my saw in 1997 and it's still running like it was the day I unpacked it from the box. The blades load very easy, on the bottom you don't even have to look where it goes it just slip right into a spring loaded bracket then tighten the top blade holder and your done. Don't really know what else to tell you. I guess it comes down to price as to what they want for it and what you want to pay.
