The other day my son brought my old benchtop delta 2 speed scroll saw home to me. I have been thinking about doing some demos at the area senior home etc to just give the people something to do. Well, what a clunker.....I haven't used that in about 5 years but it ran ok. I just don't want to drag my big dewalt around. Anyone have a favorite smaller saw that works ok with variable speed and isn't noisy....I really don't want to spend much money on this project. Thanks Bill

Bill let me throw another idea or two at you. The scroll saws really don't use that much power, the dewalt is at 1.4 amps. So if you had a car battery and an inverter that was rated at better than 200 watts, you could carry it all around and be untethered.
