Has anyone used a Hitachi Scroll Saw or what have you heard about it? My Father is going to get into the scrolling world and is looking at this brand. I have not heard anything about it, and was hoping someone could give me some advice concerning it. He does need to try to keep the price down on his scroll saw so if you have any suggestions please advise. Thanks Chris

I just sold one to a friend because I found a good deal on a used Dewalt. Truth is I could have used the Hitachi till is was worn out. My digs and they are few for the price are: the dust blower hose is a bit short. This can be remedied with an aftermarket hose to extend it. The cover on the left side gets in the way of the lower blade holder. This is part of a dust collection enclosure. I didn't want the noise a vacuum cleaner anyway so I just took the cover off. I didn't think the light was worth spit either. All this in my opinion is pretty minor. Saw doesn't vibrate anymore than my more expensive Dewalt. I like the large hole in the table (removing the insert makes it alot easier to clamp the blade in the lower blade holder. I'd make a more solid insert, I did. All in all I think it's a very good saw for the money. Like I said, I could have used this saw for years and years without complaint. PM me if you have any other questions. Pat
