Hi All, I am new to this and would like to know what type of blade to use cutting wooden jigsaws about 20mm thick and tight turns, also what is the best for leaving a clean cut on this sort of work. thanks to all. Fred N.z. |

If it is for adults or teens I would suggest a puzzle blade from Mikes workshop if it is for younger children a 5/0 to make it not quite so tight a fit. It is called a superior puzzle blade. About half way down this page. Mike's Workshop selling Flying Dutchman brand fret and scrollsaw blades

Fred, I make animal 3D puzzles that are about that thick and use a Flying Dutchman #5 ultrareverse. It leaves a clean cut, and takes out enough kerf to be able to slide together.

For stand alone puzzles that thick I use a #5 skip tooth blade. When you use a sanding mop to ease the edges, it takes off all the fuzzies. george

George, good point... I use a sand-o-flex with 150 grit paper.
