i finally recieved my new dremel saw yee haa.so i get it mounted on the stand check the blade that came with it and its square. i cut some scrap wood on it evrythings a go im ready to start my project. well i gotta change to a diferent blade i prefer spirals i know that most of you folks dont like em but i do anyways its a plain end and im having a heck of a time puting it in the holder already broke 4 before i started just trying to get it in the bottom holder. when i tighten the thumb screw the blade wants to turn out of the holder and it bends the blade as well i try to straighten it out and guess what. now frustration is setting in bout ready to return it after a lengthy wait its a dremel 1830. if anyone can help me out i would be greatly appreciated thanx marc Last edited by tugbtr; 01-06-2009 at 05:12 PM. |

Hi Marc I do occasionally experience that problem with some of the small blades like the FD SR 0/2. More often than not, it happens when I tighten the blade clamp and tension too much. Most often it happens after I switch from a larger (tougher, more forgiving) blade to a small one and forget that I cannot use my super human strength on it (LOL). I don't have much experience with the spirals, but would guess that the problem would be the same. Just back off on the clamp pressure and the blade tension and the problem should go away.

| Behave Yourself..I can't. |
You can use a small piece of angle iron or your vise and a hammer and flatten the end of that spiral blade as well. Hope this helps you out.
