Default Dremel Scroll Saw model 1680

Does anyone know where I can buy a Dremel 1680. They're discontinued and
I wanted to get a new or very lightly used one. I contacted dremel, looked on ebay, craigslist, etc.. I am using my uncles 1680 right now, but I have to give it back. I bought a Craftsman about 6 months ago... junk-took it back. Got a Hitachi for Christmas, looks good and sturdy but way too much vibration in both Craftsman and the Hitachi. Nothing beats the Dremel 1680. Please help!

Hello Dreds,

I have a 1680 - but only have it as a back just in case my Dewalt 788 has problems. I have had the Dewalt the a couple of years, and really love it.

There are things that the Dewalt will do that I was unable to accomplish on the Dremmel - so if you think you may be "stepping up" the projects you will be doing in the future, you may want to consider a better model (but that is just my opinion).

Have you checked Menards (that is where I got the dremmel). Also, if you give Dremmel a call, I know they sell their equipment if you can't find someplace close to you. Google is a wonderful tool to find the closest Dremmel location to you.

Happy Scrolling
Cheryl
