Hi Lonepine,
I would be interested to hear about this saw as well. Also the Delta 14" band saw.

Thanks.

Default Delta & Ridgid Both Good Brands !!!!!!

Rob & Chris I have heard good things about Ridgid brand of woodworking tools , I do have a Ridgid 14.4 volt cordless drill and it's a jewel . And as far as the delta , my 14" Delta is about 8 years old and it has been a dandy in my book . Food for thought when I brought about a half dozen of band saw blades the man at oslon said that that if I go for extended periods of time without using the bandsaw to take the tension of the blades for this was hard on the blades .....so I do this if I do not use it with in a weeks time....Marshall...........:051[1]433:

I have the Ridgid 14" bandsaw and have been very happy with it. My biggest complaint is that I bought mine just before they started the lifetime warranty.

Can you add a riser to it? Something to consider if you will ever be doing resawing. also horsepower.

I've not ever used the band saw but I have a Rigid scroll saw.................I HATE IT!!!! It is supposed to be a great saw for men.............but for women it blows. I'm not sure why it's supposed to be great for men and not women. But it's a very difficult saw to use for me anyway. I am hoping to get a better one soon.

Just before Christmas I helped a friend of mine add a Grizzly riser to his Ridgid. He wanted the extra capacity to cut bowl blanks. From what I've heard he's had good luck with it. Another friend has had one for years with a riser and has no plans to change to anything else. Pat
