It should take your sandard size pinless 5" blades , this is all you need to know when buying blades , good luck Marshall

| Wonderwood : I've found out that I cannot just go out and buy the sizes of blades in my neck of the woods . I"ve been calling and talking to Mike's flying Dutchman blades , he has a web site { cannot remember it off hand } but he'll fix you right up . You've got it made if you can get them close to you , good luck Marshall

I agree with Mick and Marshall. Flying Dutchman blades are very good. If you have questions about blade selection, Mike will steer you right. Plus the price is very reasonable (it costs less for his blades than the lower quality ones at HD)

Thanks guys for pointing me to Mikes site. I emailed him asking him some qestions about selecting, and will be ording some blades asap. HD..didnt have anything when I went there...so I was stuck using whatever blades my father-in-law had...which from the luck I had today was junk! Im sure it had really nothing to do with a novice behind the saw...lol I did relize that when I slowed the saw down a bit...I was able to cut better. Still need to figure out how much tension etc. I was having a real hard time seeing the line I was tring to cut because of vibration. Does that sound like a tension problem? The saw is a Dewalt 788...is that a good one? Im sure as I get use to it, it will get better...I hope |

I also have a Dewalt 788 and found if it is on the factory stand it will have some vibration. Weight it down with sand bags or lead across the lower support vibration will be gone. Try the FD-UR from Mikes he will send a mix of #1 to #9 if you buy a gross.Phone # if you would like to talk with him is 1-605-582-6732 great guy to deal with. As for seeing better I cut with a magnification. I bought one at Menards Store for around $30.00 it is about 6" round with a light, has a arm with springs to adjust and will clamp onto you saw. it takes a little time to get accustomed to cut with it but you should be able to cut right down the middle of a line. |
