Default air nozzle on dewalt SS

I was wondering if any of you have experience the air nozzle on the dewalt scrollsaw, cracking in the first link off of the tennis ball connection, which in turn likes to slowly slide down from where you had placed it. Wondering if I could just remove the first link of adjustable air nozzle and push on the next one in line, and if so how would be a good way of removing the first link? I looked up some replacement parts on the web and for a new air nozzle they ran around $17 to $20 plud $10 shipping. Can't justify ordering a new hose, as
there is nothing really wrong with the one I have with the exception to the first link that comes off the saw (tennis ball connection) being cracked and does not
stay tight.......Any suggestions.........

G'day Bob,
I had the same problem. Just remove the first link and away you go.
You may have to warm up the next coupling to get over the knuckle.

Mine didn't crack, it just "wore out" and kept falling off. A drop or three of CA glue solved that problem.

Bob - I had the same problem with my dewalt. I cut off the cracked link with side cutters then used a pair of needle nose pliers and grasped the narrow part of next link and pushed it on to the connection. It slipped right on with no need to warm it. Wayne
