| Hi I have a Dremel model 400 XPR rotary tool i need to know if anyone else has one? cause i need some smaller size Collet so i can use smaller drill bits to drill holes in my Christmas ornaments that i make so they can have something to hook a ornament hook through. I need to know what collet model numbers that will work in the 400 XPR tool.I don't have a parts list or any information that tells me what parts number of Collet fit in the Dremel Model 400 XPR I would very much appreciate any help i can get on this post. |

They use the same size as the other Dremels, they do sell a pack of 4 different inside diameter collets. Hope this helps. Cliff

Deb, buy the small replacement drill chuck for it. 4486 Dremel Chuck / Model: 4486 Loews or Home depot should have it. This way you don't have to constantly change collets.

Deb, you should be able to go to Dremel.com and find out what parts fit and maybe even get a manual. Merle |

Deb, have you tried the mini drill bit chuck ? I think you can get them from Mikes workshop. Just use them in your cordless drill. Good luck Larry

I had the same problem with my dremel. I found a six pack of collets at Lowes or HD, don't remember which. One of them is so tight that I need to pull it open to get my smallest drill bit into. I couldn't find it sold separately which I why I now have five extra collets sitting in the toolbox. The number on the packet is 4485 - Collet Nut Kit. Hope this helps, Bobbi |

Bobbi,I've used a couple of the different collets.(you'll be surprised when you need one) Deb,any Dremel or after market rotary tool kits will fit, because the shafts are the same size.
