Hi all, I have a dremel 1680, and I guess it is about a year and a half old, It has developed a bad noise, sounds like a thrashing machine. ![]() doe's anyone know what it might be? or the cause? If it is just gone, I was thinking about a dremel 1830. Is this a pretty good saw ? Thanks for your time Hacksaw |

My first saw was a Dremel. burned it out in a month. Bought a Dewalt 788 and racked up several thousand hours on it. It got a bit sloppy and is now used for cutting metal. My advise is to by a Dewalt 788. I did, twice. Alan. |

Hi Hacksaw, Don't know about the 1680, but I've had a 1830 for a couple of months now. Very satisfied with the performance. I'm sure it doesn't stack up with the Dewalt's, Hegners, etc, but it does a great job without spending very much money.

Its just one big family, with all the different ideas. Most tool places have a return policy, with 30 days or more. So try one of the better saws and if you don't like it take it back. I nearlly quit with my first saw it was so hard to cut well with and breaking blades all the time. The new saw was like putting on an old pair of gloves it just fit. So shop around and find the best saw you can afford. Alan. |
