Default Scroll Saw Retro-Fit

Hi All, I wanted to share with you the retro-fit of my 1985 Power-Line 15 Inch Scroll Saw. On this message board I saw a recommended link for Pozsgai's Designs. Frank, specializes in scroll saw innovations and was able to furnish us with some upgrades for my saw. I'm showing images, in case there might be others out there who might benefit.

(1) On the left side of the scroll saw we mounted the Installtion Blade Fixture to the table flange. (2) Following instructions Hubby installed a Blower rt side
(3) Next came the E-Z Set Bladeholder System...with just those three improvements I feel like I have a NEW saw. Changing blades before the E-Z Set Bladeholder system was a dreaded task! We also ordered a on/off foot control from another company. By the way Frank does carry the on/off foot control--just saw it to late. In the mean time I'm squirrling away savings for a new scroll saw.

So just in case you might need Frank's services here is the link to his website Pozsgai's Designs - Scroll Saw email frank@pozsgaidesigns.com Frank, was a super guy to do business with and my order was very prompt.

Hi Denny, thank you all the credit goes to two people Frank for having the parts and my hubby for installing them. I get to have the fun! LOL
There was one other part we ordered, but Frank no longer carry's it. The E-Z Set Bladeholder Tension Release System would have completed the upgrade.
Thank you, for your compliment I'll pass it along to my hubby.

Hi scrolldog (cute name) I had to laugh because your Avatar Taz looks like I felt when I had to change blades before the retro-fit. LOL
Thank you, for the nice comment hopefully 'old-so-in-saw' will keep working for at least another year. Then hopefully a new saw will be in this gals future with all the bells and whistles.

Thanks Kathy, for sharing that link. I'm going to have to check out Frank's site. I have the exact same saw but, I got mine in 1984 from AMT. I've also, seen that saw with the Delta and Enco names on it. They probably all came from the same Tiawan factory and everyone put their own name on it.

Kathy, Yup I know what your saying, had problems with the quick clamps on my Delta, now I really like the Dewalts bladeholders.
Try and save as much as possible and get the best you can afford.
The Dewalt is my 4th saw, first two were a Makita (problems with tension adjustment)and a craftsman(problems with motor),Now it's a Delta 350 (blade clamps /worn bushing) and the new Dewalt (still getting used to),the others can't compare with the Dewalt.

Hi Dave, yes you are right I found the manual for it at Grizzly (does say made in Tiawan on the saw). I actually bought it at a friends neighbor's woodshop sale about a couple months or so ago. It had been used, but not much--did discover quickly someone had put the blade in smooth side forward.
Frank is a good guy, and the parts we bought are very sturdy and installation instructions are good.
Hope, Frank can help you with replacement parts.

Hi scrolldog, this is my first saw and a diffinite learning experience for sure. If I can learn to scroll on this saw, then one like yours DeWalt will be a dream. LOL
It does sound like though you have paid your dues with your other saws.
Thank you, for the advice and will keep it in mind.
