Anyone owns or knows about the Ridgid Jobsite air filtration unit. It is on sale right now and I can get it for $49.50. I am interested but want to make sure it's worth it. Diane

Is it the small round one? If so plug it in before you buy it and see how much noise it makes. I would be tempted to make one with a wood box and furnice filters and a fan. Alan. |

It has 2 speeds. The low speed is not bad, the higher speed naturally is louder. Easy to take the filter bag out and clean it out. I believe Trout uses one too. That is about 1/2 the price I paid for mine.

I do not think it is worth makeing or let alone buying. Jet and Delta make good ones. They are expensive but do a much better job. $300 is the price of 2 doctors visits.

TWO Dr visits????????????? Wow, you have a cheap Dr. It seems like it costs us about $300 just to go there and sit in the waiting room, without even seeing a nurse!

John, we may not pay for the doctors visit but the year plus wait to see a specialist and then to get a scheduled operation is something else , Once you have a date you have to cross your fingers that it won't get cancelled as your heading for the surgery , if you live that long . Roger |

I just bought a Steel City sold by woodcrafters $242.00 with tax it has remote with on-off 3 speed fan and timer 1/2 hr 2 hr to 4 hr. Looks the same as a Jet but much cheaper also has washable outer filter and a inner 1 micron filter. Price ? to replace It is about 28x24x12 weight 50 lbs. I mounted it from the rafters in the basement in a area that you will not run into it with your head. If you have a woodcrafters near you it would be a good place to see air filter systems they have about 3 or 4 differant brands. good luck. |

I use a 24"x24" box fan that I bought at Walmart for $8 and a HEPA furnace filter on the inlet. I mounted this on a stool next to my DW788 and it catches all the fine (breathable dust). After a day of sawing I vacuum off the filter and it is ready to go again. I'll try to post a picture later.
