G'day sawdusters.... I've got a mate bringing back some 'paui' (sp?) shell from New Zealand with which I have a a few 'projects' in mind. )..... ( this shell is a bit like thick 'abalone' shell, but magnificiently coloured and I want to scroll a few 'baubles' and inlays out of it.)Rather than 'trial and error' ( story of my life!! Hehheh), I'd appreciate some suggestions for blades... i.e. teeth and type. .. Best wishes... .... Ray.

Thanks Dale..... I'll look forward to any suggestions your friend might have..... a PM will be fine if another 'thread' isn't the go ! It'll be good to read another's 'experiences' with shell-scrolling !!! I reckon blade life will be limited and the profile, especially, is something I'd like to 'lean on' someone else's experience, rather than wipe out a lot of blades with trial and error.. )And 3M..Mike..... I'e just done that and got an answer which I'll pursue when I've got the shells.... in about two weeks. Amongst other stuff, 'paui' shell inlays _do_ look great !!! I've already set 'small pieces' within clear casting resins, within an 'inlay' on boxes.... They _are_ 'magnetic' !!! ----- One of my early projects is to inlay my daughters' names ( large pieces scrolled) into "special" scrolled boxes..... Oh.... and maybe a 'keeper' for my "new" grandkid just born a few hours ago !! ))Again.... thanks to both of you for responding to this question. I guess not too many diverge into such --- viz.:- 'away' from the sawdusting.. ) to shellgrit powdering !!! Hehhehheh.---- best wishes, .... ray.

Hey, tomsteve.... Thanks for the words..... Yep, a little _bloke_ , too !!! I seem to be surrounded by 'gilrs'..... and now there's a 'little bloke' who, hopefully, will keep using my 'stuff' ( down the track)that I've spent a lifetime collecting... Hehhehheh...... Not too soon though.... he's only a couple of days 'old'---------- And I've got _Years_ left !!! Hahhahhah. .... Ray.
