| DeWalt 788 Repair Story This is the start of my effort to get DeWalt to repair my 788. Didn't get help here that would fix my saw. Tried everything and nothing worked. Actually I had already tried every suggestion. Thanks anyway, you tried. This is an old saw. Around 9 years old (asked if was still under warranty LOL) and a lot of use in those years. Its probably just wore out.
DeWalt has the GRC program and I left my saw at the DeWalt shop in Richmond today (24Sep08) to use that program. They have promised a reconditioned saw for no more than $260. If it uses less stuff (parts) then the cost will be less. If they use more, the price won't exceed $260.
They said a "couple of days". We'll see.
I'll keep you posted.

| Final Chapter This post got 120 views but no replies so I'm not sure if anyone is interested. I do however want to close it out.
Got my saw back yesterday. They replaced the following parts:
286268-00, Rocker As, vert
286284-00, Rod, draw
286283-00, Wedge, tension
286296-00, Screw M6, 8ea
Cost $151.61 with $88 labor.
Saw has a tic (vs knock) at lowest speed. Vibration gone.
Think a fine tuning of the tension rod will fix it but I want to cut some before I adjust. No tick when cutting. |

| Chase glad you got your saw back operational, yes fine tuning the tension rod should take care of the ticking noise also read my post on lower blade holder mine was sloppy and made a simular noise but getting yours back from DeWalt that shouldn't be a factor
