Default A little bit of an upgrade

I've been sooo jealous of many of you great scrollers out there. I had been using a $80 Harbor Freight scroll saw. While I was more than able to work on my projects, I found that saw had a LOT of vibration and it uses pin adapters which are a pain in the behind when doing fretwork. While I wasn't able to upgrade to a Dewalt, I was able to pick up a new Dremel 1830. WOW, what an improvement! FAR less vibration, no pin adapters, a large cast iron table (yeah no more stamped, uneven steel!) and quick release tension....aaaahhhhh the life!

But if that's the improvement going up to the Dremel........I'll put my jealous bone away just for a little while.

good for you Kevin. I also have a Dremel and there are times it is better to use than my Hawk.

Cool. its amazing what a good tool can do for you. So go make something and show off how much fun you are having with the saw.

Kevin:
I jumped from a used Delta to a HItatchi and could not believe the difference. Someday, I'll get the DeWalt, but for now, I'm a pretty happy camper.

Ya still did some nice work with your $80 saw. Your mom still enjoys those dragon fly doorway brackets doesn't she.

Goodonya Kev,
You're living proof that "Tools don't make the Tradesman"
I started with a Ryobi and moved through a Delta, Dewalt and now the EX21 and each saw was great.........until I got the next

Congrats on the new saw, Kevin! And hey, You did some nice work on your old one. My first scroll saw was a two speed dremel that had those adapters for plain end blades, you're right, those are a pain. Good luck with the new saw!
