Default Discouraged - no saw

Fuse blew again and so there might be another problem. Will bring the saw in to the saw doctor tomorrow. I really hope they don't keep it too long. I'm already suffering withdrawal.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Sorry to read about your situation Diane......I presume it is the same fuse you were having a problem with not too long ago. Do you see any wires touching anything, anywhere? Wish I could be of more help.
Have you read this thread? dewalt power switch problem

The fuse lasted about a month. Then 2 days ago it blew and it smelled like something burning. No problem I figured just replace it again. This time they just keep blowing lasting 2 seconds only. Something else is wrong and I can't figure it out.
I have a foot switch and my on/off switch is very clean and has always been covered.
Better to bring it in and let the experts check it out. There is a two week delay on the repair which is not as bad as I originally thought.

I feel for you! 2 weeks is a long time to go without your saw when you are used to using it often. I hope they can figure it out and get it fixed for you.

Gosh my Hart goes out to you. I just hate it when there is a probleam I can't fix myself. specialy with electric. whoooo. scary. My first thought would have been , where I plug it in at. is there enouph elctric curront or probley not the probleam. somthing is shortting out for sure. hope all goes well. maybe a new saw would be in order . my saw doesn't have fuses. maybe it should. that is a good thing when something is a miss. sounds like there must be a wire touching somewhere, or crossed somehow. hope it is a cheap, and easy thing to fix. your friend Evie

I hope it is easy and cheap. I will not panic until they call me with the estimate.
Marcel is so sweet. He has offered me his saw for the time that I am without mine. He knows that this is a time to get as much cut as possible for the fairs in the fall. October will soon be here. If it goes for a long time then I might consider it but I will try and keep busy with other things for now.

Awwwww, That Marcel. what a guy. you know Diane, I bet it would make him feel good to contribute to your loss right now. so take him up on it. that is what friends are for. sometimes, it is a friend indeed, is a friend in need but it is also. a friend who needs me. I know you are there for him alot. so let him be there for you. I envy your friendship. I wish I had a close friend to talk to, and come to my aid. even though you are my friend. you are like across the world from me, and my choclates are melting. mmmmm hoho. your friend Evie

Something definatly is not right with it.I cant remember how old it is, but most likely its waranty expired huh? I dont know how they do things up there, but around here I think the service centers would claim you caused your saw whatever trouble it has by using a footswitch that wasnt made specifically for the machine, even if that had nothing to do with it. Hopefully it will be a simple quick fix,but odds are you will be missing it for quite a while.Youll just have to go visit Marcel more often!!!

The simpler solution is to move in with Marcel for a month or so !!!!!! then I get both the saw and the lathe LOL
