Thumbs up Leveling in-feed out-feed tables

All,

I recently purchased a 16/32 drum sander and the extra in-feed out-feed tables that were options. The tables finally arrived today and when I went to install them I noted in the instructions that they suggest using a straight edge to align them with the feed belt table.

So I grabbed my 80" level that I bought for doing cabinets and laid it on the table under the drum and what do you know, it has several rare earth magnets in the bottom of it. It secured itself to the main table and I lifted the new table up and it grabbed a magnet as well. The table was instantly aligned with the main table. I just tightened the the bolts and the whole install took about 15 minutes. I moved the level to each side after install to insure it was level across the plane and made a slight adjustment. When I did the second table I moved it over to each side and tightened everything up. I was so stoked I redid the planer too, 10 minutes and they were all perfectly aligned!!

The level I have is an Emperor that I got a Home Depot, I will admit that it was rather pricey but a very good level (guaranteed to be level within .00050) that has now come to use in an entirely unforeseen application and made its cost a better value.
You can buy smaller version of this so if you do not such a long level it can cost you less.
