|  DW788 Question Hi All, Have a quick question for all my fellow yellow owners out there. I noticed last night that a get quite a vibration in my saw if I try to run it at top speed. I usually don't run it that fast but had read a thread about checking the saw at different speeds and thought I would check it out. I normally run mine around the 6 setting at I have no problems with vibration. My question is could this be an issue that would surface eventually or is it something I should not worry too much about? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers. Chris

| I cannot offer you any advice on what to look for but I know that mine does not vibrate even at top speed. What is your saw sitting on? Is it level? Diane

| Hi Diane, I will check it tonight. It is on the Dewalt stand with the back raised. The stand is on my garage floor (concrete). Thanks for the thoughts. Chris

 | I bought my DeWalt used and it vibrated quite a bit at top speed when I got it home. After giving it a good once over in my garage I realized the stand wasn't sitting right on the floor. I looked it over and noticed it wasn't put together very well and that was causing the stand to be slightly twisted. I loosened all the joints up a bit to allow the stand to straighten itself out, shifted things around a tad where needed, then retightened everything. Now at top speed I get very little vibration from the saw, but that's ok with me since I very rarely run it at that speed. I hope this helps. Jim

| I find on the two of my yella saws set up on stands that they both will vibrate moreso on a certain speed than anywhere else.The vibration isnt really considered excessive to me.There is a certain harmony somewhere in the speed range where they shake worse, and a certain speed where they dont seem to shake at all.When my saws are set so the table is level, I can stand a nickle on edge and run them through the complete range of speed without the nickle tipping over at all, and on the other saw it falls over just before hitting top speed. Since Ive had my saws (years now), I havent noticed any difference in this.

| Hi All, Thanks for all the responses. Last night I did a quick test and loosened the saw from the stand, and re-positioned it slightly, that seemed to help. This weekend I will take saw off stand and do as suggested to loosen then re-tighten the stand. Thanks again for all who replied. Have a great weekend. Chris

| Try mounting it on a thick rubber may . Mine is mounted on a rubber mat which is used in horse stalls . I still get a slight vibration at the highest speed , but I run at a lower speed . Cheers . Roger |

| Id suggest leaving the saw on the stand.If I remember right, in the manual it says to just snug the stand bolts, then put the saw on the stand and start those bolts, then tighten all the bolts after you have the saw where you intend to have it sitting.Good luck with it.

| Dale is right. I don't remember seeing it in the manual, but it is a good idea to leave the saw on the stand when you tighten the bolts up. The weight of the saw will help the stand settle into position and hold it steady while you tighten it up. It is a bit of a burden to get down on your knees to get the bottom bolts, but it will be worth the trouble when you are done.

| Hi . After reading about the Dewalt vibration problem from some of the owners , I wonder if it is time to get in touch with Dewalt and ask what the hey! Has any one contacted them yet ? I just assumed it was the nature of the saw to vibrate at certain speeds . Some of the members don't seem to have this problem . Roger |
