Well? Did you get the router dale? I have never had any problems with any of my Bosch tools, two routers (both with fixed and plunge bases in the kits), and my bosch randomorbit sander.

Thanks all.
Dale, I pick it up on the 8th of July. I will give a followup report after I get it and give it a try.
I figure for the setup with 6-8 bits, the feather boards and miter gauge it should be a pretty good buy ( I hope ).

Yes, it was a good buy, especially if the bits included are good quality bits. The prices of some of the bits alone would set you back quite a few $'s.

Good luck with your new router. I am just now learning to use mine after having it for several years. I picked it up because the price was right and I knew I would want it some day. Now I am building kitchen cabinets and I was right! And take heed to the previous warning about the router being the most dangerous tool in the shop, it is an extremely powerful tool and a moments inattention could cost you dearly.

Not only do you need to pay close attention to working with the router when it is turned on, but pay close attention to those bits. Quality bits are the only way to go. True you can buy some very cheap bits from outlet or discount stores, but they are more likely to burn the wood or cause an accident.

Don't buy sets of bits, you will only use a few from the set and the rest go to waste. Buy a good quality bit for each seperate task you plan to do. You will be SO very glad you did it that way.

I agree with Tom, you will pay more for them when you buy them individually but if you only buy one when you need it, spend the extra money and get a quality bit. The only time you should buy a set is when you are doing stiles and rails and or raised panels, and again, buy the best you can. I spent just over $100.00 for a matched set of rail and stile bits. I lean toward Freud myself but that is just me, others have their preference as well. It is a well known fact that the router is the tool you will spend the most money on AFTER you already own the router! Bits are expensive as are dove tail jigs etcetera. But as I am learning, it is an extremely versatile tool and worth the expense.
