Talking Blade Storage

When I started sawing, I bought a flexible soft plastic tubular container at Sears and jammed the blades (in their packages) down in the tube, but I always said I would get more organized and do better. (Said that about filing my negatives also--many years ago)

I looked through several websites for test tube or similar devices when I came upon these:BLADE Storage.

They call them "Baby Soda Bottles", since they are the blanks used to form 2-Liter soda bottles. They are 1" diameter and 5.75" long. Figuring that since the blades were 5", I had a match, so I ordered two sets so I would not have to make a holder and I figured I'd be lucky to ever have 12 different kinds of blades.

Normally, I don't link commerce sites on such discussion boards, but with all us newbies on here, I thought someone else might be having the same thoughts.

Jim
Here's a thread with the same link. No problem with posting links of interest.

Did a search on this section of the board and cane up with nothing under "blade storage", but didn't check all the other sections.

Walt's systems looks pretty sweet.

If it doesn't work for me, I can always store spices. Been wanting to get them straighten up, too.

Did you read the whole add? It states that you need adult supervision.

I was in the city for a few days and went to a kids sciece store and got 20 glass 6" x 3/4" test tubes. They were 1.05 each. so not too bad. I really hate using the internet to order stuff, or more to the point I hate giving my credit cards numbers on the net.

One Suggestion On These Tubes: If They Are Sealable And Air Tight You Might Consider Placing One Of Those Silica Packs You Get When You Purchase Product From Over Seas (electronic, Shoes, Ect.) In Them (instead Of Throwing Them Away) It Will Keep Moister From Building Up In Them When You Have A Temp. Change In Your Area. I Am In Houston And Whhen A Front Comes Through You Can Get Condensation Forming Up Inside.... Just A Thought.. If It Doesnt Apply In Your Area Then Disregard....

I just use top coat on my cast tables and have never had rust. We live a few stone throws from the ocean but rust does not show up. I wonder if it is humidity ( we do not get humidity here) that causes rust for some places.
