I had the same problem. For me the problem was UNDER the on/off switch. We removed it and underneath there was a plug in (sort of like a phone jack) that had become loose. Pluged it back in and away I went.

EUREKA
I called my very good friend Marcel and he guided me through on how to open the fuse cover. Yes the fuse needs replacing, it is broken.
Going to the store this afternoon to get another one.
Thank you Marcel, xxx

Back to square one....went to the village and finally got a fuse from a tool rental place. Put the fuse in and the saw worked. So I saw my buns down to get some real work done. This one also blew. So now to find the reason for this.
And, must buy another fuse. Of course I only bought one, this one lasted me a whole year!!!
Grrrrrrr!

I just looked at mine . I had to push down on the raised lettering at the bottom of the fuse to get it to pop . It made me check mine . Glad your's is fixed . Will also get another fuse .Roger

Diane,

1- Make sure you blow the dust out in every nook and cranny you can aim an air hose at (Specially on the motor and the switch).
2- Check the motor brushes to see if they are worn : not sure if it could cause an overload on the fuse, but just to be safe.
3- Try plugging in the saw on a different breaker : may be caused by power spikes.

If all fails, and you come around my place, bring it and we'll look at it (debugging a server is probably more complicated than debugging your saw , and I'm good at the first one)

Talk to you soon,
Marcel

Hi Marcel
Robert is buying another fuse today in the city and will be trying that tomorrow. If this fails then for sure you will have me at your door with the saw. Expect a visit next week.
Thanks for all
Diane

Will let you know how this turns out. The saw is already loaded in the car and I am going to visit Marcel tomorrow. I am sleeping with my fingers and toes crossed tonight.

Diane-

I also saw with a DeWalt so I would be very interested in knowing the out come with you and Marcel.

I've had mine since 2005 and have no electrical problems as of yet. I did have to take it into the shop for adjustment when I first got it, tho, since then everything has run great.

DeWalt is a great saw.

Good luck Dragon, nothing more disheartening than scroll saw-er with out a scroll saw. Sorta like having a cigarette and no matches. (I don't smoke, but use to). Hope you and Marcel can get it buzzing again. It is most defanatley an elctrical problem to be blowing fuses.
