Default A cheap way to organize your shop!

Do not seem to be able to back edit the title line, I ment to print Organize.
A great way to set up your shop is by going to government auctions. They quite often sell huge desks with drawers. I just use the tops as counters. They might be made of wood products but when you can buy a desk for a couple of bucks why not. The desk in my office is a 30 x 62 inch slab I think I paid a dollar for it.
The other thing they always have are lateral filing cabinets. They range from 30 to 44 inches wide and from 2 to 6 drawers high. Most are the heavy duty ones that will take a good load. All my counters are made as above, with file cabinets under. For example I can put all my portable electric tools in 3 drawers. I keep 1 for srap steel, and it is full and slides in and out smoothly.
I have a tall 5 drawer cabinet in my office, store price around $1500. auction was $125. But all the other ones I have( 16 more) cost between $1 and $7. My welder fits in one, even my 13 inch planer hides in 1 with its extras. Paint, camping gear you name it, it fits
Again this is stuff that comes from government offices etc. it is not what yousee in Office depot type places for a few hundred bucks.
The auction I look at dailly is for the B.C. Government. They have auction branches all over the province.
BC Auction
Google search and find one near you, as an example go to our auction and look in the office equip area. The current bid on 14 desk areas with wall units( they work great above counters and tools, I have 13 of these)is 50 cents. that auction ends tommorow.
Anyway if you need real good storage this is the way to go.

The title actually grabs attention so it did its job. Besides that is the Canadian spelling

That is a cool link I had never seen it before! And almost local for most of the items. Thanks for posting it.

Great tip too.
