Default A different switch.

I have noticed a lot of posts talk about using a foot switch. I have 3 of them and use them when sitting down but find that on a tall stool or when standing they do not work for me. all of my tools have been fitted with new switches. I place them so I can hit them with my hip or knee.If something goes wrong when cutting I do not have to take my hand of the wood to shut the machine down. My table saw (which scares me the most) has a large switch pad about 8x10 inches that I can kick or knee off if i get into trouble.
the rest of my tools use the swith that I show in the pics. On my 20 inch band saw I use 2 of them one on the cover right in front of me when doing normal cutting and another with about 8 feet of cable that I use when resawing long lenghts. The silly little safety switches that come with the tools I just throw away. the switch in the picture will work with 110 or 220 voltage and cost around $15. Being a bit of a clutz they are worth the money, I don't think my wife would let me go out to my shop if I did not have them.

I got them at Busy Bee Tools in Vancouver, B.C. the web site would be
busybeetools.com Part # B2561 on sale now for $10.88. But they have other styles and voltages so it would be worth looking yourself.
Busy Bee is an importer of Chinese etc tools. So I would think that most tool places would have the same type of thing.
I forgot to mention that I mount some of them on a small piece of plywood and fasten a good magnet to the back so I can put the switch where I want.

G'day Alan,
Great switches, unfortunately I'd have to get a bigger table saw so that beast would fit. LOL

Interesting to note that they are available in 240v hmmmmm

That switch is only 120 volt. they come in 220 volt. but they cost around $200. This one is off my old saw, I have not switched the saw over to 220 volts yet. For the near future I will not be cutting any heavy stuff so will leave it on. I think I will just make a pad to fit over the smaller switches that I started this thread with and see if that will work.
